Superior Client Ratings Propel Pinnacle Financial Partners to Win 30 Greenwich Excellence Awards

Pinnacle Financial Partners (Nasdaq/NGS: PNFP) more than tripled its previous record by bringing home 30 national and regional Greenwich Excellence Awards for 2017. Only one bank in the country earned more. This is the firm’s ninth year in the program and the first time it was eligible for several of the national awards.

Greenwich Associates is recognized worldwide as the foremost provider of market research for banks and financial services firms. Pinnacle won 12 awards in the middle market banking category and another 18 for small business banking for a total of 30, including eight for the South region and 22 on the national level. Last year, Pinnacle won eight Greenwich Excellence Awards altogether.

“We’ve had plenty of milestones and awards as a company, but a list like this is tough to beat,” said Terry Turner, Pinnacle’s president and CEO. “These awards always stand out because they are based entirely on what our clients say to independent third party researchers. This says that clients believe our financial advisors truly are the best. There’s no higher honor than that.”

Pinnacle won in the following 30 categories (all awards are at the national level unless otherwise noted):

Middle Market Banking ($10-500MM)

“With our incredible growth, we are finally eligible for several of these awards for the first time,” Turner said. “To win so many right out of the gate – and the second most in the country – proves to us that we have always offered the best client experience and advice in the marketplace.”

Though more than 600 banks are eligible to win the Greenwich Excellence Awards, just a few dozen made the final list. To win an award banks had to score a significantly higher proportion of top box “excellent” ratings in interviews and surveys relative to the overall mean.

In November 2017, Pinnacle won four Greenwich Best Brand Awards for small business banking and middle market banking based on trust and ease of doing business.

Pinnacle Financial Partners provides a full range of banking, investment, trust, mortgage and insurance products and services designed for businesses and their owners and individuals interested in a comprehensive relationship with their financial institution. The firm earned a place on Fortune’s 2017 list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in the U.S., and American Banker recognized Pinnacle as the sixth-best bank to work for in 2017.

The firm began operations in a single location in downtown Nashville, TN in October 2000 and has since grown to approximately $22.2 billion in assets as of Dec. 31, 2017. As the second-largest bank holding company headquartered in Tennessee, Pinnacle operates in 11 primarily urban markets in Tennessee, the Carolinas and Virginia.
