PPG (NYSE:PPG) today announced environmental product declaration (EPD) verification for 15 formulas from the PPG TOP GUN^® architectural sealants product line. PPG Top Gun is one of the first sealants in North America to publish a building and construction sealant EPD that is certified by the global public health organization NSF International.

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a comprehensive, internationally-harmonized report that documents the ways in which a product, throughout its lifecycle, affects the environment. EPDs contribute to the transformation of green building initiatives, such as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) v4, by enabling purchasing decisions built on science-based environmental information. LEED v4 encourages the use of building materials for which life cycle information is available and that have environmentally, economically, and socially preferable life cycle impacts.

• Top Gun 200XI sealant is a premium grade, elastomeric acrylic sealant that forms a durable, flexible, airtight and weather-resistant seal, offering exceptional protection from environmental conditions. Designed to be used on some of the most extreme applications, Top Gun 200XI sealant flows smoothly, is easy to apply, offers good paintability and resists rust bleed-through. This product exceeds ASTM C-834 conformance standards and is available in white, clear and eight other colors.
• Top Gun 300 sealant is a premium grade sealant that forms a flexible, durable, airtight and water-resistant seal. It offers exceptional protection from environmental conditions and features high stretchability and superior recovery. Top Gun 300 sealant is designed for use on some of the most difficult applications, such as crown molding, baseboards, drywall and glass. This product exceeds ASTM C-920, Class 12.5 conformance standards and is available in white.
• Top Gun 400 elastomeric acrylic urethane sealant is made with DuPont™ Kevlar® for exceptional strength and durability. This premium technology has exceptional adhesion to most building substrates with greater than 800 percent elongation. The internally plasticized sealant reduces dirt pickup, eliminates yellowing, protects against protruding nails and forms a permanently flexible, airtight and water-resistant seal, offering exceptional protection from environmental conditions. Top Gun 400 sealant exceeds ASTM C-920, Class 25 conformance standards and is available in white, clear, bronze and stone.
