SHOP APOTHEKE EUROPE: PROCESSED THE FIRST E-PRESCRIPTION.
SHOP APOTHEK EUROPE has prepared for the introduction of electronic prescriptions (e-Rx) for more than two years and has been ready since this summer. The processing of the first e-Rx demonstrates that all of SHOP APOTHEKE EUROPE's front- and back-end processes are working smoothly. The gematik e-Rx pilot in Germany started in the Berlin-Brandenburg focus region this July. Following the ongoing pilot phase and a nationwide introduction phase in December, e-prescriptions are expected to become mandatory for all drugs prescribed to people covered by statutory insurance in Germany from 1 January 2022 or later that year. Germany-based patients will then be able to submit their prescriptions directly in the webshop or via the SHOP APOTHEKE app. SHOP APOTHEKE EUROPE customers will continue to be able to send a paper prescription by regular mail - so patients can choose the method that best fits their needs. However, SHOP APOTHEKE EUROPE expects e-prescriptions to become the standard in Germany after the launch phase: "We expect that our customers will rapidly adopt e-prescriptions and the convenience they offer.
