SAF-HOLLAND: New plant opens in China

Luxembourg, November 14, 2019. SAF-HOLLAND Group ("SAF-HOLLAND"), one of the world's leading suppliers of truck and trailer components, has opened its new plant in China.
 

"With our new location in Yangzhou, we are now perfectly positioned on the production side and operate close to our customers. We have also created the ideal platform to successfully realize the growth potential of the Chinese market for commercial vehicle components," says Alexander Geis, CEO of SAF-HOLLAND.
 

SAF-HOLLAND has had production facilities in the People's Republic of China for over 20 years and has earned a solid reputation for itself through its expertise, high-quality products and innovative systems for trucks and trailers. A deciding factor in choosing the new location in the east of the People's Republic was its proximity to potential commercial vehicle customers. With the new plant in Yangzhou SAF-HOLLAND bundles its manufacturing activities in China at once. The chassis specialist expects to achieve a significant increase in efficiency due to the shorter distances and improved cost situation at the new location. Currently, 134 employees work in the production and administration areas. Production is focused on axles including suspension systems and landing gear.
 

Members of SAF-HOLLAND's management team, as well as representatives from the local city government, the authorities and regional administration, were present at the opening of the new production facility. In his comments, Jürgen Knott, President China of SAF-HOLLAND, highlighted: "The new location is best-in-class and creates the basis for SAF-HOLLAND's future growth. It also meets our requirements as a premium manufacturer."
