Sol-Gel Technologies Announces an Additional Collaborative Agreement for a Generic Product Candidate with Perrigo

NESS ZIONA, Israel, Nov. 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sol-Gel Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: SLGL) (“Sol-Gel” or the “Company”), a clinical-stage dermatology company focused on identifying, developing and commercializing branded and generic topical drug products for the treatment of skin diseases, today announced it has entered into a collaborative agreement with Perrigo Israel, an affiliate of Perrigo Company plc ("Perrigo") (NYSE; TASE: PRGO), for the development, manufacturing and commercialization of a generic product candidate.

Under the terms of the agreement, Perrigo will seek regulatory approval with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) for this generic product candidate. If approved by the FDA, Perrigo has agreed to commercialize the generic product candidate in the United States. Sol-Gel and Perrigo will share the development costs and the gross profits generated from the sales of the generic product candidate, if approved.

“This new generic product collaboration marks Sol-Gel’s fifth collaboration with Perrigo, including one that has already resulted in a tentative approval from the FDA for ivermectin cream, 1%,” commented Dr. Alon Seri-Levy, Chief Executive Officer of Sol-Gel. “Building a broad generic pipeline is strategically important to Sol-Gel given the favorable economics of our arrangements where we share gross profits 50/50 with our partners.”
