Software AG’s World Leading Process Software, ARIS, Breaks 25-Year-Record and Sets Course for the Future with New Release

The initial handwritten sketches of a software program that would revolutionize how business processes run in companies first saw the light of day back in the late 1980s. Today ARIS is the world’s leading tool for managing and analyzing business processes, laying the foundation for success of one of the most important undertakings in the business world: the digital transformation. ARIS will be celebrating its 25th birthday at Software AG’s booth at CeBIT 2017.

At CeBIT, ARIS is once again presenting itself as an innovative platform that acts as a navigation system for companies making the digital transformation. A sneak preview of the latest version, ARIS 10, was presented at the press event for the birthday party. Under the motto “Manage your digital future,” Dr. Wolfram Jost, CTO of Software AG and one of the founding fathers of ARIS, presented highlights of the newest version: visual, smart analysis of KPIs (with our new product, ARIS Aware), planning for IoT scenarios, customer experience management, support for the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and much more. The new version will officially hit the market in mid-April.

Dr. Jost is convinced: “ARIS is a key management instrument for every company that wants to succeed in its digital transformation. It transfers the digital business strategy into the company’s operational processes, integrates them into the customer journey, and creates transparency about the transformation’s success by continually monitoring and analyzing performance and risk indicators. ARIS improves communication and supports collaboration between departments and locations. It supports our customers in achieving their optimal software implementations based on departmental requirements.”

ARIS well-wishers included longtime customer, Annette Kirchner, from the “Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt”:

Kirchner commented: “Business process management means knowing, developing and controlling your own processes. Documented and transparent processes are essential to the economy as well as the public administration, especially in the course of advancing digitization. Sustainable solutions for digital transformation can only be developed and operated on the basis of robust and optimized processes. ARIS has been providing the tools and methods for recording and managing processes quickly and with high quality for 25 years.”

In December 2016, ARIS was awarded a gold seal in a BARC study on process modeling tools. According to BARC: “ARIS fully met all the necessary application support criteria for model management, standard notation, method refinement, collaboration and model analysis.”*
