Unseong will integrate Thinfilm’s NFC SpeedTap™ tags in its award-winning ‘King’s Shoes’ shoe-care kit to facilitate direct brand-to-consumer interactions with its customers via a smartphone. In addition to enhanced consumer engagement, Unseong will also use Thinfilm’s solution to confirm product authentication, provide how-to instructions, solicit feedback, promote its rewards program, and generally elevate its brand.
The King’s Shoes kit features an electric polishing device, a collection of polishes and cleaners, and several multi-purpose brush heads for footwear and other leather goods. The on-kit SpeedTap tags fully integrate with Thinfilm’s CNECT™ cloud-based software platform, enabling Unseong to deliver customized digital content that caters to its tech-savvy Millennial and Gen Z target audiences.
Unseong is planning a nationwide launch of the ‘smart’ kit in January through several retail and web-based outlets, including Funpick and Funshop.
