Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE: TPC), a leading civil and building construction company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the Virginia Department of Transportation for the Route 264 Interchange Improvements Project in Norfolk, Virginia. The contract value is approximately $107 million. The project scope of work includes widening the existing I-64/Route 264 Interchange ramp connectors, construction of four new bridges, a creek realignment and installation of related structures.
This project represents the Company’s second highway construction project in the region and is located approximately 10 miles south of the current I-564 Intermodal Connector design-build project, which began construction in 2014.
Construction is underway and substantial completion is anticipated by October 2019. The contract value will be included in the Company’s reported third quarter backlog.
