Tufin’s New Vulnerability Mitigation App Combines Network Insights with Vulnerability Data to Prioritize Remediation Efforts

(NYSE: TUFN), a company pioneering a policy-centric approach to security and IT operations, today announced the release of the (VMA). Integrated with leading vulnerability management solutions to enrich vulnerability intelligence with real-time network insights, the app allows organizations to ensure effective remediation and automated mitigation via a risk-based approach.

Offered as a subscription-based service, the Tufin Vulnerability Mitigation App enables organizations to prioritize remediation and mitigation efforts by enhancing vulnerability scanner output with network insights. By combining vulnerability measures (CVSS and severity) with insights into how these vulnerabilities may be accessed and exploited via the network, customers have the context to identify and address vulnerabilities that pose the greatest threat to critical business assets.

“When it comes to remediating vulnerabilities, Tufin customers now have unique insight to effectively reduce their attack surface,” said Ofer Or, Vice President of Products, Tufin. “With the launch of the Vulnerability Mitigation App, we can now help organizations prioritize remediation efforts, prevent exploitation, and accelerate the speed and efficiency of critical security processes – all in an automated fashion.”

The Tufin Vulnerability Mitigation App provides out-of-the-box integration with the most widely used vulnerability management solutions, including Rapid7 Nexpose, Rapid7 InsightVM, Qualys VMDR, Tenable.io, and Tenable.sc.

“It’s crucial for organizations to be able to prioritize and remediate their most critical vulnerabilities,” said David Beaver, Director of Strategic Alliances and Partner Programs, Rapid7. “By integrating Rapid7’s InsightVM solution with Tufin’s Vulnerability Mitigation App, customers will gain access to vulnerability assessment data and will be able to automatically enforce network access changes where they are most vulnerable.”

“Over the last few months, to enable remote working, IT and security teams have had to handle numerous unplanned, time-sensitive tasks on top of their routine work, such as analyzing and quickly patching critical or time sensitive threat vulnerabilities that pose imminent risk to the organization,” said Karun Malik, Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Channel Development, Qualys. “The integration between Qualys VMDR and Tufin’s Vulnerability Mitigation App enables admins to correlate the real time host level vulnerability data with network insights to save time and focus remediation efforts on the riskiest vulnerabilities and potential threats to their most critical assets – those that are accessible through the current network configuration, and can therefore be exploited by attackers.”

While prioritization is necessary, it is not always possible to immediately patch the most critical servers with severe vulnerabilities. In these circumstances, the Tufin Vulnerability Mitigation App automates risk mitigation by implementing network changes that block access to the critical asset until remediation efforts can be fully implemented. VMA also includes a comprehensive dashboard, monitors and measures risk exposure over time, and highlights overall vulnerability exposure and the impact of mitigation and remediation efforts networkwide.

The Tufin Vulnerability Mitigation App is now available for a free 30-day trial. For more information and to download the app, please visit:
