Wells Fargo Team Members Raise Money for Chosen Beneficiaries

Wells Fargo Enterprise Global Services, LLC-Philippines (EGS Philippines) announced today that nearly PHP 200,000 was raised during their Annual Fundraising Week held from May 8 – 12, 2017. Proceeds from the week will be used to fund various outreach activities for Bikes for the Philippines Foundation’s “Give a Bike, Change a Life” program, Handicapped Care Association Inc. (Handicare), Habitat for Humanity, Sta. Rita Orphanage, Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), and others.

“We support our community in various ways throughout the year including volunteer activities that support partner non-government organizations (NGOs),” said Nicole Tria Tirona, head of corporate sustainability for EGS Philippines. “What makes Fundraising Week unique is that our team members get involved in supporting social causes in fun and innovative ways while working in the Wells Fargo offices in McKinley and Bonifacio Global Center.”

The week-long event was set up with a bazaar-like feel where team members led fundraising activities such as bidding for social time with managers, an art exhibit, games, and physical fitness and musical challenges. EGS Philippines also invited Habitat for Humanity to present and set up a booth where team members volunteered to work with them in the future. Products made by assisted non-government organizations were also sold and an in-kind donation drive for pre-loved clothes, children's books and toys, toiletries, and more were also part of the week’s activities.

Fundraising Week is an important part of Wells Fargo’s commitment to social responsibility. It has evolved over the years, becoming a popular event with a fun atmosphere. It is also a supplement to Wells Fargo Bank’s annual Community Support Campaign held in September, wherein time and presence are given through volunteer activities.

Globally, Wells Fargo team members volunteered close to 1.8 million hours of service in 2016, and the company has organized Wells Fargo Volunteer Chapters in 10 countries around the world.
