Decline in profit despite increased sales

At end-2016, Juhayna posted a decrease across all earning sectors despite a strong revenue growth (+18.0% to EGP4.993bn). Higher costs hit Juhayna’s net profit in 2016 to EGP53.5m (-80.9%), with its net margin reaching 1.2% compared to 6.6% for the same period last year.
Juhayna’s results during Q1 2017 followed the same trend. The company booked a 16.6%, yoy, rise in revenue to EGP1.288bn, helped by higher sales of the dairy sector (+12.0%).
