Disappointing Non-Life Figures

Wafa Insurance figures in 2015 present a mixed picture. Premiums written increased by 5.4% to MDA6.407M. This increase comes especially from the life business, where sales rose by13.3% to MDA3.422 M, against a deterioration of the Non-Life business to MDA2.985M (a 2.4% decrease). The degradation of the Non-Life has been justified by the management by the intensifying competition in the business market.
However, the bottom line has deteriorated from 4.7% to MDA800M, following a drop of 20.8% of the Life result to MDA323M.
