Slovenian Weekly Report 14.8.2018-18.5.2018

  • 1Q18 results season started well with result mostly coming in-line (Gorenje, Telekom) or ahead (Triglav, Cinkarna) of our expectations. Economic environment remains favorable and we can be encouraged for 2Q18 as well.
  • This has, together with Gorenje takeover intention and hefty dividend proposals, lifted SBI TOP sentiment.

 AJPES issued Slovenian earnings data for 2017.

    • Slovenian companies increased revenues by 13% in 2017 vs 2016 with 19% increase in exports and 10% increase on the domestic market.
    • Labor costs increased by 9% to EUR 9.1 bn, partially due to 3% wage increase and partially due to 6% higher headcount.
    • EBITDA increased by 7% YoY.
    • Profit increased by 16% to EUR 3.6 bn. Margin was lower only in 2007 peak. ROE improved by 0.5 p.p. to 8.3%.
    • Net debt to EBITDA lowered from 2.73x to 2.51x, as EBITDA expanded more than overall financial debt.

  • HISENSE Luxemburg Home Appliance Holdings S.ar.l., Luxemburg published an intention to acquire Gorenje d.d. on 11th May 2018. Investors are not awaiting a takeover offer. In the meantime share price is oscillating slightly above EUR 11 per share and ever closer to offerprice, the later being at EUR 12 per share.

Gorenje dd is a Slovenia-based company engaged in the production and sale of household appliances. The Company operates through three business segments: Home, producing and selling products and services for home, such as major domestic appliances (MDA), small domestic appliances (SDA), heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and kitchen furniture; Ecology, providing ecology-related services; and Other, with such activities as tool-making, engineering, hotels and hospitality services, trade, and design services. The Company covers the global markets with a portfolio of ten brands: Gorenje, Gorenje+, Korting, Sidex, Mora, Atag, Etna, Pelgrim, Asko and Upo. As of December 31, 2011, the Company was the parent company of the Gorenje Group, which consisted of numerous companies in such countries as Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden,, Norway, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria and Croatia, among others.

KRKA d.d.

Krka is a public generic pharmaceutical company based in Slovenia. Co. is engaged in the development, production, sale and marketing of human health products (prescription and selfmedication pharmaceuticals and cosmetics), animal health products and health resort and tourist services. Co. focuses on a range of generic prescription pharmaceuticals, which are marketed under Co.'s own brands. Co. offers customers in over 70 countries a broad range of prescription pharmaceuticals, self-medication products and animal health and cosmetic products. Co.'s activities are supplemented by health resort and tourist services of Terme Krka.

Telekom Slovenije

Telekom Slovenije dd is a Slovenia-based company engaged in the provision of telecommunication services. The Company provides fixed and mobile communications, system integration and cloud computing, construction and maintenance of telecommunication networks, digital content and services, multimedia, digital advertising. It operates under the brands Mobitel and SiOL. The Company's services and products include business bundles, Centreks, Moneta, M vrata, among others. The Company is active in Slovenia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Gibraltar. On November 6, 2013, the Company concluded the transaction of transferring a 100% stake in the capital of PRIMO Communications SHPK to AD-Trade SHPK, Albania. The Company's major shareholder is Slovenska odskodninska druzba dd with a stake of 72.75%.

Zavarovalnica Triglav d.d.

Zavarovalnica Triglav DD. Zavarovalnica Triglav dd is Slovenian-based company principally engaged in the insurance and financial services. Zavarovalnica Triglav dd is the controlling company of the Triglav Group which offers insurance, asset management and banking services. Zavarovalnica Triglav dd, Zdrastvena zavarovalnica dd and Pozavarovalnica Triglav Re dd provide wealth, life, voluntary additional pension and health insurances. The insurance sector of the Company also operates in the Czech Republic, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Macedonia. Through Triglav DZU ddo, Triglav Nalozbe financna druzba dd and Triglav nepremicnine dd the Company provides investment fund management, real estate and banking services. As of June 22, 2012, the Company acquired a 100% stake in Investicijsko podjetje, Trgovanje z lastnimi nepremicninami doo from Sava dd.
