Slovenian Weekly Regional Overview 10.9.2017 - 14.9.2017

TELEKOM SLOVENIJE:
Newspapers released a rumor on Tuesday, 11th September, that Telekom Slovenije supervisory board will decide whether to settle a dispute with T2 for more than EUR 50m. This translates into at least EUR 7.7 per share. True, Telekom Slovenije had provisions in the amount of EUR 34.3m for lawsuits, albeit not all provisioning is tied to this case (likely majority of it). In addition, nothing is confirmed yet while Telekom Slovenije released a statement that it will not comment any speculations.
T2 lawsuit amounted to roughly EUR 260m (with interest; EUR 129m original) and it is a lengthy dispute that could still last for several years. Therefore the settlement would be somewhat a surprise but could spiral into a question: why settle now? The fact is that balance sheet of Telekom can take it, however it would impact 2018 profit and our valuation by EUR 4.1 (from EUR 83). Also, while our dividend estimate of EUR 5.6 for next year could still be on point, the fact is investors will be nervous about it.
Share price didn't react much however share price was already down by more than 9% from mid July. More to follow…

NLB 1H18:
Slovene biggest bank wholly owned by state reported 1H18 results. Net interest income is up by 2% YoY while profit decreased by 11%. Nevertheless most bank metrics remain strong with ROE of 12.1%.
Privatization is planned, but its still a complex issue that a new government will need to tackle. Don‘t hope to much. More details on page 2.
