BMCE Capital Research Earning H1 2020

At the end of a semester heavily impacted by the health crisis, the effects of which were felt mainly in Q2 2020, the activity of the main economic operators was undermined, de facto impacting the financial achievements of listed companies.

On the commercial side, the poor performance of industrial stocks was attenuated by the good overall resilience of the banking sector, driven by the dynamics of the loans distributed (in particular DAMANE OXYGENE) as well as by the fall in the key rate.

However, the combination of several unfavorable elements such as the deterioration of the operational indicators of listed companies, particularly for industries, attributable to the incompressible nature of structural costs, and the contribution to the COVID Fund, further strained their bottom line.
