Polish Equities Monthly: November 2019 – 2020 equity strategy preview

With the turn of the year closing near, one is tempted to figure out the next year’s outlook. How long the current synchronized slow-down in growth for the key countries/ regions may last? How persistent may be the recent dovish twist in main central banks’ policy bias? 30% of the world’s sovereign debt outstanding stock has negative yield – does it really matter? Are there any material risks to the stability of global financial system? What’s the priority of president Trump (apart from his re-election): trade deal with China or lower rates? From where another financial crisis may erupt? Are there any signs of looming recession in the US and what it may look like when it happens? Where do we stand in equity market cycles? What is the US yield curve telling us on future course of the US stock market (will this time really be ‘different’ than the past)? What’s the corporate earnings outlook? What’s the investment appeal of US’s, Euro-zone’s, emerging markets’ and Polish equities? Which sectors and/ or companies may emerge as outperformers during the upcoming year and which seem likely to lag behind? All these are burning questions, and we will elaborate on them striving to present our detailed views on these issues in our upcoming 2020 Equity Strategy research report (scheduled for mid-December release). So, stay tuned.
