SECTOR UPDATE | Beverages | Play safe

Me too I drink: a fundamental medium-term trend. A convergence between the sexes has taken place in terms of alcohol consumption. Indeed, men born at the end of the 20th century are only 1.1x more likely to drink alcohol than women, compared with a ratio of 2.2 for those born towards the start of the 20th century. Since women tend to prefer spirits rather than beer, we believe that all players in the sector should benefit from the trend, although some have a clear advantage give that their portfolios are more focused on spirits favoured by women. These are Campari and Pernod Ricard.

Since 1996, Bryan, Garnier & Co has been growing with an absolute conviction that the investment banking landscape would experience a major revolution: most of the large local generalist banking groups will disappear to the benefit of a handful of global powerhouses, and an emerging group of independent, highly specialised boutique investment banks.
