American Campus Communities Recognized for Five Pillars of the Industry Awards from NAHB

American Campus Communities (NYSE:ACC), the nation’s largest developer, owner and manager of high-quality student housing, today announced that the company received the National Association of Home Builders’ 2016 Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Award for the Best Repositioning of a Multifamily Asset for The Castilian in Austin, TX. The company was also recognized as one of two finalists for the Multifamily Development Firm of the Year, as well as a finalist for Best Corporate Website and Best Student Housing Rental Apartment Community. The faculty housing community developed and owned by ACC on the campus of Princeton University also won the award for Best Workforce Housing Community.

American Campus Communities has been recognized at NAHB’s Pillars of the Industry Awards on 24 occasions since 2005, 13 of which are first place awards, including the Multifamily Development Firm of the Year in 2013.

  • Best Student Housing Rental Apartment Community – Finalist: Plaza on University, Orlando, FL – The Plaza on University is a 1,313-bed, off-campus, mixed-use student housing community located directly across from the main entrance to the University of Central Florida.
  • Best Workforce Housing Community: Merwick Stanworth, Princeton University – This faculty and staff community was developed in partnership with the University under an equity transaction structure called ACE (American Campus Equity®) and is LEED® Gold certified.

The NAHB Multifamily Pillars of the Industry Awards program is held annually, highlighting creativity and innovation in the apartment and condo marketplace. This year’s awards program was held on January 10 at the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Orlando, FL.
