He will report to the President and CEO, Lisa Wardell, and will be responsible for the growth and strategic direction of the professional education vertical.

Most recently, Patel was president of Apollo Global, the international education conglomerate within Apollo Education Group, Inc. While leading Apollo Global, he oversaw a network of businesses across the United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Australia, India and South Africa. Working with the global executive team, he developed and executed on the unit’s strategic framework and annual operating plan. Other duties included co-directing corporate development activities, including M&A and partnership deals, and post-acquisition integration. Prior to Apollo Global, he served as president of Kaplan Professional Publishing and Kaplan Professional Schools, where he served as the executive leader of two professional education business units. Earlier, Patel had key roles at Thomson Learning/NETg where he helped develop and manage the company’s products and services in the corporate and professional learning verticals.

Patel received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is currently on the board of directors for No Barriers, an organization dedicated to helping individuals break through personal obstacles and challenges through transformative life experiences and educational programs.
