Aerohive Networks® (NYSE: HIVE), a Cloud Networking Leader, today announced cloud-managed hotspot services for public and guest Wi-Fi access. With Aerohive’s latest platform updates, Managed and Hospitality Service Providers (MSPs and HSPs) can leverage new guest authentication methods and hotspot management tools to better serve and support their customers at scale.
Aerohive’s expanded MSP offering includes Hotspot 2.0 and cloud-authenticated Facebook and Google social login services that, in combination with Aerohive’s software-defined Wi-Fi architecture, provides restaurant chains, coffee shops, and other visitor-oriented locations with fast, reliable Internet access. Increased guest management options now available on the subscription-free Aerohive Connect™ offering also provide budget-conscious customers with access to greater connectivity options for their visitors.
Enhancing MSP operational capabilities, Aerohive has also today added an inventory tab within HiveManager® NG to simplify reporting of highly distributed deployments with a consolidated audit of wired and wireless infrastructure devices. In addition, Aerohive has delivered policy exceptions at scale to dramatically simplify the MSP workflows required to deploy, manage and update many small customers. This allows MSPs to use a global network policy for efficient deployment and tuning of networks, while still enabling per site SSID names, security and Captive Web Portal for customer specific user experiences.
In recent months, Aerohive has strengthened its delivery platform for MSPs, introducing a new Private Cloud deployment option enabling MSPs to host their own instance of HiveManager NG supporting 1M+ devices, and new Hierarchical HiveManager (HHM) multi-tenancy management that pools devices and licenses across an MSP’s entire customer base and locations.
Aerohive’s broadened MSP offering delivers flexible business terms, hardware and software purchase separation, monitoring APIs to integrate Wi-Fi networking data into centralized MSP dashboards and ticketing systems, and a choice of CapEx and OpEx ownership models.
