Bluedrop Makes the PROFIT 500 List for Third Year in a Row

Bluedrop Performance Learning Inc. is pleased to announce that it has made the PROFIT 500 list of Canada’s fastest growing companies for the third year in a row. This year, the St. John’s, NL company achieved a ranking of 138 in the 2016 list, posting 519% growth during the last five years.

Founder and CEO Emad Rizkalla said, “We are proud to be on the PROFIT 500 list again this year. Bluedrop has been on a steady climb for the past five years. When many firms go public much of their energy shifts to telling a good story to investors - we focused on building a story and I think it speaks for itself. I have no doubt that our story puts us in a unique position for investors looking for longer term value creation.”

The company has expanded quickly with most of its staff still located in Atlantic Canada, however, its customer base is rapidly internationalizing. Bluedrop has two divisions - Bluedrop Training and Simulation Inc. (BTSI) and Bluedrop Learning Networks Inc. (BLNI).

BTSI is a national leader in defense and aerospace training for complex equipment and missions and recently celebrated a USD$2.3M investment from Boeing to develop training for the rear crew of Chinook helicopters - opening up another new market in the area of virtual/augmented reality.

The smaller “startup” division, BLNI, offers an Integrated Skills Management System which uses its proprietary Bluedrop360 platform to manage training delivery and tracking used in complex, multi-stakeholder compliance/safety assurance situations as well as in upskilling workforces. Examples of customers include governments, foundations, industrial projects, NGOs and industry groups.

“I am pleased that we have grown BTSI into a dominant position in the Canadian market,” said Rizkalla. “In the coming years our plan is to leverage Boeing’s investment and partnership to grow a global market for our new simulation products. For BLNI, the feedback regarding our technology is unprecedented in my career. I am confident that our platform constitutes a new market segment. We are well ahead of the curve. Of course it is more challenging to be ahead of the curve, but the upside and potential are certainly much more significant.”

Rizkalla credits his team of nearly 200 employees for the success of the firm. “I am not sure what else I can say about the team we have assembled. They are in their own league. In the technology industry, whoever has the most dedicated, most innovative and most capable people wins. I can say unequivocally, that the Bluedrop team’s brilliance and passion for our work is why we are here again on the PROFIT 500 list.”
