Atlantic Broadband, the nation's 9th largest cable operator, today announced significant internet speed increases as part of its $6.3 million “FastForward Miami” initiative. Announced in July 2016, “FastForward Miami” is bringing network infrastructure and service enhancements to residents and businesses in Miami Beach and surrounding areas including Aventura, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, Golden Beach, North Bay Village, Pinecrest, South Miami, Sunny Isles Beach, Surfside, plus Brickell, the Biscayne corridor and downtown Miami.
With this next phase of the “FastForward Miami” initiative rolling out today, residential and business customers now have access to increased internet speeds of up to 250 Mbps. In addition, all existing internet subscribers will see an increase in speeds as part of their service over the next few months. Once complete, “FastForward Miami” will deliver even faster internet speeds, including the delivery of Gigabit speeds planned in August 2017.
In total, Atlantic Broadband’s “FastForward Miami” will deliver:
- The wide-scale availability of Gigabit internet service
- The addition of 58 Standard Definition (SD) and/or High Definition (HD) channels – bringing the total channel count to over 400
- Significantly more Spanish language and international channels to meet the needs of its culturally diverse residents
- Enhanced digital picture quality and sound
- Availability of a simple yet powerful on-screen guide on all TV sets
