Craft Brew Alliance Takes Home Five Medals from 2017 North American Beer Awards

Craft Brew Alliance, Inc. (“CBA”) (Nasdaq: BREW), a leading craft brewing company, announced today that Kona Brewing Co., Omission Beer, and Widmer Brothers Brewing earned five awards, including two gold medals, at the North American Beer Awards (“NABA”) held in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on June 2, 2017.

“With the number of U.S. breweries now well over 5,000, the competition at events like the North American Beer Awards continues to increase,” says Scott Mennen, Chief Operating Officer, CBA. “It’s a testament to our incredible brewing talent here at CBA that our beers continue to stand apart in such a vibrant and fast-growing space. Notably, Widmer Brothers’ flagship Hefe brought home yet another gold medal, making it one of the most award-winning craft beers since its debut in 1986. Two of our brands, Kona Longboard Lager and Omission Lager, both medaled in the Dortmunder Export category, with Omission, which is brewed to remove gluten, earning the gold despite competing with traditional, non-gluten-removed beers.”
