OKLAHOMA CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
The first class action lawsuit was filed against Equifax, Inc. relating to the cybersecurity incident. The complaint alleges that Equifax was negligent in failing to protect consumer data and choosing to save money instead of spending on technical safeguards that could have stopped the attack.
Equifax provided a link on their website to enroll for an identity theft program. However, William Federman, attorney with Federman & Sherwood, “thinks it is ridiculous that Equifax loses your personal and financial information and then Equifax is only providing one year of protection that is insufficient and far below the standard of care.” Federman & Sherwood intends to vigorously protect all clients and obtain adequate protect for them.
