NLRB Revokes Union Certification at FedEx Freight Terminal

FedEx Freight, the industry leader in less-than-truckload transportation, and a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), announced that the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has issued an order officially revoking the certification of the Teamsters union as the bargaining representative of city and road drivers at the FedEx Freight location in Monmouth Junction, N.J.

This order is a result of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 701 disclaiming interest in representing the FedEx Freight employees in this location. The revocation comes on the heels of FedEx Freight drivers in Croydon, Pa., and Charlotte, N.C., voting the union out.

To date, at three of the four FedEx Freight locations that originally voted for Teamster representation, the Union has either been decertified by employee vote or voluntarily decided not to continue as bargaining representative.

“Our thriving and open work environment provides a flexible, team-oriented and customer-focused work model, and our people-service-profit philosophy remains at the core of our success and forms the foundation of the unparalleled service that FedEx delivers daily to our customers worldwide,” said Michael L. Ducker, president and CEO of FedEx Freight.
