Social News Desk Chosen by Meredith Corporation as Enterprise Social Media Partner

Social News Desk (www.SocialNewsDesk.com), a subsidiary of Graham Media Group, a division of Graham Holdings Company (NYSE: GHC), announced today that it has entered into a long-term agreement with Meredith Corporation whereby Social News Desk (SND) will provide social media publishing and social display at its 14 broadcast and digital properties. Social News Desk is a leading creator and provider of social media management tools for newsrooms and media organizations. Meredith reaches local audiences in nearly 12 million U.S. Households and is a leader in the digital space. The company will use SND Dashboard for social publishing and analytics and will use the SND On Air display tool to place social content on TV during newscasts.

“We’re looking forward to expanding our partnership with Social News Desk to increase our corporate visibility into group-wide social media performance and to help our properties succeed with their day-to-day social media initiatives,” said Patrick McCreery, Vice President, News & Marketing - Local Media Group at Meredith Corporation.

There are now more than 1000 newsrooms on 5 continents using SND’s social media management software as part of a robust social strategy. Social News Desk Founder and President, Kim Wilson says “We never want to lose sight of what it’s like to be a working journalist. That experience is core to who we are as a company and our clients’ feedback is the primary factor in determining our product roadmap and the future of our platform.”

Social News Desk launched a new version of its core social publishing tool, ‘SND Dashboard’, in Q2 2016. The reimagined and fully rebuilt platform relies on leading-edge technology to create a faster, smarter way to manage social in a newsroom setting. Among other advancements, the new SND Dashboard encompasses real-time analytics in drag-and-drop widgets that can be viewed alongside the publishing streams. This unique approach allows users to make better decisions based on actionable analytics.

The new SND Dashboard is also establishing itself as a must-have for media companies looking to measure themselves against market competitors. Social News Desk currently indexes more than 10,000 pieces of social media content per second in order to build its exhaustive database of every local news organization in the world. From there, SND is able to calculate the ‘SND Score’ for any market or designated market area (DMA). The SND Score indicates which Newspaper, TV or Radio station is on top in any one of 4 key social media metrics.

Following its launch in 2015, Social News Desk’s SND On Air product has been rapidly embraced for its ease of use and slick integration with SND’s publishing tool, SND Dashboard. Stations in approximately half of the nation’s 210 television DMAs are currently using SND On Air which now supports video playback and vertical layouts.

Social News Desk’s newest product, “SND Campaigns” was released in earlier this year. It provides an integrated solution for Branded Content by allowing streamlined publishing of sponsored social posts along with automated reporting on the success metrics. The product has already been adopted by more than 200 media organizations nationwide.
