Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), which is innovating the way utilities and cities manage energy and water, today announced that it shipped its 75 millionth gas communication module, which was delivered to NiSource. This significant milestone demonstrates Itron’s continued investment in Encoder Receiver Transmitter (ERT®) modules and natural gas solutions that improve service, cut costs and streamline operations.
Itron has been manufacturing gas modules in its state-of-the-art facility in Waseca, Minnesota since the invention of the ERT Radio Frequency (RF) gas module in 1986 and is proud to ship the 75 millionth module, an OpenWay® Riva , to NiSource. The 500G represents the latest in ERT technology, with the ability to accurately read and store usage data to provide visibility into natural gas usage and more accurate bills.
