JAKKS Launches New Fitness Initiative to Promote Active Play

Leading U.S. toy and consumer products manufacturer JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (NASDAQ: JAKK) today announced it will launch a new kids’ fitness initiative in 2017. JAKKS will introduce Little Mighty Gym™, a cohesive line of on-trend products that encourage active play. This new fitness form factor will include physical and digital components to capture the attention of six to 12 year olds, while also encouraging them to get up and move.

Experts state that children should get 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise every day that should include muscle strengthening, aerobic activity and bone strengthening. JAKKS aims to give kids the tools they need to create and keep a healthy lifestyle with Little Mighty Gym™. Pushing the boundaries of active game play, Little Mighty Gym™ marries physical game play with virtual play, infusing real-time fun into app based gaming. The Little Mighty Gym™ App will have four games with four varying levels of fitness fun, allowing kids to engage at their own level.

“Over the past couple of generations, childhood obesity rates in America have tripled,” said Jack McGrath, Chief Operating Officer, JAKKS Pacific. “The statistics are alarming and we feel strongly that JAKKS can provide meaningful solutions to address this growing concern with the Little Mighty Gym products.”

McGrath continued, “We know kids spend time gaming and our goal is to get kids moving while adapting to their gaming preferences. Little Mighty Gym challenges kids at their own pace resulting in a healthy lifestyle which can produce increased confidence, ability to perform better in school and sports, and feel happier all around.”

Additional fun fitness products include jump ropes, hoppers, yoga balls, bop bags, heavy bags, and more.
