Enrollment Opens for 2017-18 School Year at Insight School of Oklahoma

Insight School of Oklahoma (ISOK), a full-time online public school, is now accepting enrollment for the 2017-18 school year. ISOK is an alternative school serving at-risk students statewide in grades 7-12.

The comprehensive education approach provided by ISOK focuses on providing struggling students with the academic, social and emotional support needed to reach graduation. The school features block scheduling, where students can focus on fewer courses at a time, and offers online programs to help address students’ academic challenges and the family’s needs.

“Every student has unique challenges and ways of learning, and here at Insight School of Oklahoma, we recognize that academic goals may be different for every student,” said head of school Sheryl Tatum. “ISOK offers a fresh start with a different model that can set up your student for success. Our approach is not to judge students or families, but to help them in ways that work for them.”

State-certified teachers work with each student and family to develop an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) to place student in the appropriate courses, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and create a plan to chart their progress.

High school students at ISOK enjoy a weekly advisory period to build strong relationships with classmates and an advisory teacher, and a Social and Emotional Learning program ensures students are ready to learn by increasing their self-confidence and interpersonal skills. In addition, the school’s Family Support Team includes a licensed social worker and other family support personnel to help students stay on track.

During the enrollment period, ISOK will be conducting online and in-person information sessions throughout the state. Interested families are encouraged to attend to meet teachers, staff and other families and to learn more about the school.
