LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Students at Great Basin Virtual Academy (GBVA), a full-time online public school program authorized by the White Pine County School District, begin their 2017-18 school year on Aug. 28 simply by turning on their computer. GBVA is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade across the state of Nevada.
GBVA gives Nevada students the chance to learn in the ways that are right for them with a personalized approach to learning. The school offers courses in English/language arts, math, science, history, world languages, art and music.
State-licensed teachers provide instruction, guidance and support, interacting with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face meetings.
“Our program encourages students and parents to grow and learn together by exploring their personal interests and collaboratively participating in academic pursuits,” said Danny Diamond, head of school at Great Basin Virtual Academy. “Our school has designed educational supports that both enhance the learning experience and provide strategies and techniques to the parents to help meet each student’s unique needs.”
GBVA also boasts an active school community which organizes social and extracurricular activities for students to gather in-person.
