MESICK, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Students and teachers at Highpoint Virtual Academy of Michigan (HVAM), an online public school authorized by the Mesick Consolidated Schools, will begin the 2017-18 school year on Sept. 5th. In its second year of operation, HVAM is available tuition-free to students in grades K-9 from across the state. By the 2020-21 school year, HVAM plans to expand to serve grades K-12.

HVAM offers a rigorous curriculum and a supportive learning environment led by Michigan-certified teachers. Courses are offered in the core subjects of math, science, language arts, history, art, music and physical education/health. Lessons plans are integrated across subjects, so students can apply what they are learning in one class to the lessons they encounter in another.

In HVAM’s virtual classrooms, students are able to pursue their coursework at a pace that works for them. Advanced learners can progress quickly, while those who find concepts more challenging can take the extra time they need.

In addition to the virtual classroom, HVAM students have access to resources such as books, workbooks, and materials for experiments and projects.
