Idaho Virtual Academy Now Accepting Enrollment for 2017-18 School Year

Idaho Virtual Academy (IDVA), a tuition-free online public charter school, is now accepting enrollment applications for the 2017-18 school year. IDVA is open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade across the state of Idaho.

The school’s rigorous and engaging curriculum includes courses in English/language arts, math, science, history, world languages, art and music, as well as electives. IDVA offers a robust K-8 Advanced Learner Program and Advanced Placement® courses for high school students, who can also earn dual credit through local colleges and universities. IDVA also offers an accredited alternative high school program, Vision High School, for students who meet state qualifications.

At IDVA, state-credentialed teachers provide instruction, guidance and support and interact with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face meetings. Teachers work closely with each student to develop an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP), allowing for greater support for students struggling with a topic or skill or for students to move on when they have mastered a subject.

“IDVA is not only about lessons; IDVA is about community,” said Kelly Edginton, head of school at Idaho Virtual Academy. “We are proud of our outstanding parent, community and faculty support system, and we believe that IDVA is a great choice for families who are interested in getting actively involved in their children’s education.”

In coordination with the local school districts, IDVA students may participate in extracurricular athletics and activities. IDVA also has a strong community with regular opportunities for students to connect through clubs, social gatherings, field trips and service-learning projects.

During the enrollment period, IDVA will host online and in-person information sessions throughout the state. To learn more about IDVA and for a complete list of events, please visit http://idva.k12.com.
