iQ Academy California-Los Angeles to Hold In-Person Graduation Ceremony

iQ Academy California-Los Angeles (iQLA), a full-time online public charter school, will celebrate the Class of 2017 with an in-person graduation ceremony on Tuesday, June 20 at 2 p.m. at the Brea Community Center.

Twenty-nine students will graduate from iQLA, which helps students in kindergarten through 12th grade who reside in Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Ventura counties become independent, self-motivated learners. Operating since 2010, iQLA students are able to learn at their own pace, explore their interests and achieve their academic potential.

Graduates have reported that they will attend colleges and universities across the state, including UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, Cal State-Northridge and Cal Poly Pomona.

“Graduation is a wonderful time to celebrate our students’ hard work and many accomplishments,” said Cathy Andrew, head of school at iQ Academy California-Los Angeles. “While it is hard to say goodbye to these students, who have become a part of our iQ family, we are so excited to see what their futures hold.”

Layden Cole is iQLA’s Class of 2017 valedictorian. Award-winning musical artist, inspirational speaker and entrepreneur Sade Champagne will address the graduates, and iQLA teachers and staff will be in attendance to celebrate the students’ achievements.

Through in-person outings and weekly live help sessions with California-credentialed teachers, iQLA students work toward graduation with individualized learning plans to accommodate and foster different learning styles.

Media is invited to attend the event. Details are as follows:
