Michigan Virtual Charter Academy 2017-18 School Year Enrollment Now Open

Michigan Virtual Charter Academy (MVCA), a full-time online public charter school, welcomes families with students in kindergarten through 12th grade to enroll for the 2017-18 academic year. Open to all students who reside in Michigan, MVCA offers an individualized approach to learning -- through live online sessions with teachers students receive extensive support, and are challenged by a rigorous curriculum.

To achieve an exceptional learning experience for each student, MVCA combines an engaging online curriculum with hands-on materials and the support of Michigan-licensed teachers. MVCA provides courses in language arts/English, math, science, history, world languages, art and music, as well as elective and Advanced Placement® courses for high school students. The program offers advanced learners the ability to progress faster in subjects in which they excel, as well as opportunities for advancement in STEM education. Additionally, MVCA offers dual enrollment, which allows qualified students to earn college credit and high school credit for the same course.

“As we head into our seventh school year, we’re excited to share our rigorous, interactive online curriculum with new students,” said Andrei Nichols, head of school at Michigan Virtual Charter Academy. “The rigor of our curriculum combined with a deeply collaborative partnership between teachers, staff, parents, and students is designed to let students discover and foster the learning style that works best for them.”

MVCA will continue to build and support its Family Academic Support Team (FAST). FAST staff members and teachers bring a holistic approach to supporting each student’s educational progress, working together to meet the needs of the student and family. This includes helping students work through non-academic issues that may be affecting their performance in school.

MVCA is now accepting enrollments for the 2017-2018 school year. Parents are encouraged to attend one of the online information sessions hosted by the school each month. More information on MVCA and upcoming events can be found at http://mvca.k12.com/.
