LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Nevada Passport Academy (NVPA), an online public high school for under-credited students, kicks off the 2017-18 school year on Aug. 28. NVPA is designed to help students under the age of 21 who haven’t finished their high school education get back on track and earn a diploma.
NVPA combines online coursework with classroom work taught by state-certified teachers to provide a unique, personalized learning experience for each student. Flexible hours mean that school can be adapted to the student’s schedule, situation and life, allowing greater opportunities for the future.
“No matter what’s gotten in your way, at Nevada Passport Academy, we will work with you to create a plan for both high school and post-high school success – to college, to a vocational program, or straight to a career that fits who you are,” said Danny Diamond, head of school at Nevada Passport Academy.
NVPA offers classes in core academic subjects, including English, math, science and history. Students also have access to a comprehensive catalog of elective courses that include physical education, health, personal finance and world languages.
Class sizes are small and will vary based on student needs, as determined by regular assessments. Students who need more support in mastering a subject will receive that support, while more advanced students are challenged to take their learning further. While the pace of the program is flexible, important benchmarks must be reached within certain timeframes, including state/school-required assessments every year and demonstration of academic gains each semester.
NVPA is still accepting enrollments for this fall. For more information, please visit http://nvpa.k12.com.
