Online Public Schools in Indiana to Hold In-Person Commencement Ceremony

Hoosier Academies, a tuition-free public charter school authorized by Ball State University, will celebrate the Class of 2017 on Saturday, June 17th at a joint graduation ceremony with the Insight School of Indiana (ISIN).

One hundred fifty-three students will graduate from Hoosier Academies. Eight students are graduating a year early and thirty are graduating a semester early. Nineteen students will graduate from the Insight School of Indiana. Hoosier Academies Class of 2017 co-valedictorians are Isaac Wilson and Ian Bowyer.

Hoosier Academies offers core courses in language arts/English, math, science, history, art, and physical education/wellness, as well as electives and Advanced Placement® courses for high school students. Dual enrollment is also available, which allows students to earn college credit and high school credit for the same course.

ISIN offers an individualized approach to learning and an education option for students of every ability level, including a competency in helping students struggling academically. Each ISIN student receives an individualized learning plan (ILP) that takes each child’s unique strengths, weaknesses, learning styles and aptitudes into consideration.

Hoosier Academies graduates report receiving multiple scholarships including the following: the Xavier Award and Muskie Grant totaling $58K, a $26K scholarship to Valparaiso University, $16K Academic Achievement Scholarship to Purdue University Northwest, and the Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Distinguished Scholarship for $24K.
