Utah Virtual Academy (UTVA), an accredited online public charter school, is now accepting enrollment applications for the 2017-18 school year. UTVA is open to students statewide in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The rigorous and engaging curriculum offered at UTVA includes courses in English/language arts, math, science, history, art and music, as well as six world languages, more than 50 electives and Advanced Placement® courses for high school students. State-certified teachers provide instruction, guidance and support and interact with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions, phone and face-to-face meetings.

The school has a robust Advanced Learner Program for younger students, and high schoolers can get ahead by earning college credits through in-person and online concurrent enrollment available at Salt Lake Community College, Snow College and Dixie State University.

Students have the choice to enroll full-time or remain in their local high school or homeschool setting and enroll through the Statewide Online Education Program in up to six full-year online courses from the K12 catalog.

UTVA also offers the Destinations Career Program, which prepares full-time students in grades 9-12 for college and careers and provides them with relevant technical skills in two career fields – health and information technology. Students enrolled through the Statewide Online Education program can also access career technical education (CTE) courses.

UTVA provides experiential learning opportunities such as school field trips and social gatherings, as well as the opportunity to participate in student government and other clubs.
