Paul Gable has joined Prudential Group Insurance as chief underwriting officer, where he will assume national leadership of all underwriting functions. Prudential Group Insurance is a business of Prudential Financial, Inc. (NYSE:PRU).

Gable’s responsibilities include National Accounts Underwriting, Premier Accounts Underwriting and Underwriting Excellence. He will report to David Zona, chief operations officer, Group Insurance, working in the Roseland, New Jersey, office. His appointment is effective immediately.
Gable, who worked in group benefits for The Prudential Insurance Company of America from 1990-96, rejoins the company after co-founding and being president of IBX in Alpharetta, Georgia. IBX, a consulting, technology and outsourcing partner for top benefits firms, manages more than $2 billion of annualized premiums.

Gable also was principal for Clarity Benefit Consulting where he working with Fortune 500 clients throughout the U.S. on insurance procurement, product alignment, benefit financing and funding. He also worked for Unum Insurance Co. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College and an MBA from Rutgers University—Newark.
