Clas Ohlson Selects PTC FlexPLM Retail Solution to Support Its Growth Strategy

PTC (NASDAQ: PTC) today announced that Clas Ohlson, a retail company offering a wide range of products and services, will implement PTC’s market-leading FlexPLM® retail solution to manage product development of all product categories and improve collaboration between its offices in Sweden and external suppliers. With this deployment, PTC’s Retail PLM Cloud solution will play a critical role in providing the backbone for all product information.

Originally a mail order business, Clas Ohlson is now a fast-growing international retail chain with more than 220 stores and e-commerce across five markets: Finland, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and the UK. Clas Ohlson is working with PTC as part of its multi-year transformation initiative, which will replace old methods with scalable and robust systems and processes for the future. Clas Ohlson will deploy PTC’s out-of-the-box FlexPLM solution to enable them to drive new levels of innovation and significantly increase efficiency. The solution will enable Clas Ohlson to reduce the need for system customization and enable seamless data management, both internally at Clas Ohlson and with its extensive supply base.

“After carrying out an in-depth global evaluation, we found PTC’s industry expertise and comprehensive solution to be the best fit for our business,” said Tony Dahlström, director of purchasing, Clas Ohlson. “We are confident that PTC FlexPLM will help us in managing our ever-growing complex product portfolio, improve global collaboration, and reduce lead times to support our next phase of growth.”

Clas Ohlson will use PTC’s Cloud Services offering to provide a fully managed solution service, which will enable faster time to value, a lower total cost of ownership, and reduced risk and strain on internal IT teams.

“We are thrilled to be working with such a prestigious brand as Clas Ohlson,” said Eric Symon, vice president and general manager, PTC Retail Business Unit. “This is a critical project for PTC in our growing retail business, and we look forward to a long-term strategic collaboration. With the help of our quick adoption framework and retail innovation platform – which includes FlexPLM and the ThingWorx® Industrial Innovation Platform – Clas Ohlson will now be able to realize its growth strategy. We look forward to helping Clas Ohlson achieve its goals.”
