On April 10, 2017, Rent-A-Center announced a new, comprehensive plan designed to restore growth, improve profitability and maximize value for all Rent-A-Center stockholders. Following the announcement of the plan, the Company selected April 24, 2017 as the record date for its annual meeting in primary part to provide the investment community with the opportunity to assess the plan and allow those investing in the Company’s stock the opportunity to vote in the election of directors at its upcoming annual meeting of stockholders.
