SAP Hybris LIVE: Global Summit to Explore How a Galaxy of Data Can Advance the Customer Experience

SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that it will host the SAP Hybris LIVE: Global Summit October 17-19, 2017, at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via. Previously known as SAP Hybris Global Summit, the event will bring together SAP Hybris executives, customers, partners and industry experts to explore the current galaxy of data available and its role in advancing the customer experience.

“Amidst all the change with digitalization, one thing has remained consistent – customer demands are outpacing current technology,” Carsten Thoma, SAP Hybris president and co-founder, said. “This gap creates windows of opportunity, ripe with innovation and disruption. The goal of this year’s SAP Hybris LIVE: Global Summit is to discuss this gap and how we will close it by embracing new technologies that deliver unparalleled experiences for customer engagement and success.”

SAP Hybris LIVE: Global Summit Event & Speaker Details

This year marks the 20th anniversary of SAP Hybris and is an opportunity to reflect on past experiences and look ahead to what’s next. To commemorate this milestone, Carsten Thoma, president and co-founder of SAP Hybris, will keynote on the event’s first day and describe the transformative power of turning insights into action. On day two, Rob Enslin, president of SAP Cloud Business Group and member of the SAP Executive Board, will weigh in on SAP’s transition to the cloud and outline what it means for customers. Baroness Lane-Fox of Soho, CBE, futurist, digital entrepreneur, and activist, will also join the keynote stage to touch on the evolving relationship between customers and artificial intelligence (AI), and the implications for what it means to create a truly digital society.

A Galaxy of Data

The event will offer interactive showcases that allow attendees to see, touch and hear how SAP Hybris Labs, the research arm of SAP Hybris, is changing the future of customer engagement. The Labs team will introduce Galaxy, an immersive virtual reality experience which processes customers' information in real time to provide insight into customer activity that makes it easy for businesses to respond to customers accordingly. Using SAP Hybris technology, Galaxy will capture each attendee’s customer journey on-site, build a unique customer profile and compare the data with that of other attendees. The use case will demonstrate how, with the application of machine learning algorithms, VR can change the way businesses use real-time data.

In all, SAP Hybris Labs will demo four interactive experiences: Charly the ChatbotPepper Instore Assistance, Smarter Cities, and Next Generation Retail Execution.

Additionally, attendees can expect to hear expert-led sessions related to applying AI, machine learning, Internet of Things, and microservices to advance the customer experience. Upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) also will be explored.
