Cytec Industries, a member of the Solvay Group, files patent infringement lawsuit against Sunshow Specialty Chemical in Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court

Cytec Industries Inc., a member of the Solvay Group, has filed a patent infringement lawsuit on behalf of its Polymer Additives business group in the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court against Yantai Sunshow Specialty Chemical Co., Ltd. The lawsuit, which requests injunctive relief, damages and attorneys’ fees, alleges that Sunshow is making and/or selling a product in violation of Cytec’s patent covering its CYASORB CYNERGY SOLUTIONS® V703 product - as verified by independent laboratory analysis.

“We take protection of our intellectual property very seriously,” said Domenico Romanino, Senior Vice President of Additive Technologies for Solvay Technology Solutions. “Solvay and its subsidiaries have invested heavily in terms of both time and money to develop its CYASORB CYNERGY SOLUTIONS® product platform and we rely on patents to help recoup our investment in new product development ventures that bring benefit to our customers around the world. When companies do not respect our patent rights, the Solvay Group will vigorously enforce those rights to the fullest extent of the law.”
