Computerworld Names Worthington Steel to 2025 List of Best Places to Work in IT

Worthington Steel, Inc., (NYSE: WS) announced today that it has been named to Foundry’s Computerworld 2025 Best Places to Work in IT. This award recognizes the top organizations that challenge their IT staffs while providing great benefits and compensation.

“Our IT team deserves recognition every year, but this year, they are true MVPs. Their extraordinary efforts to help Worthington Steel become a standalone public company by successfully separating all systems – including infrastructure, end-user systems, business applications and security – are truly commendable,” said Bill Wertz, vice president of transformation and chief information officer. “I’m thrilled with everything they’ve accomplished and look forward to the future as the team continues to lead advancements in technology, efficiency, connectivity and metrics, empowering the Company to drive the metals industry forward.”

Worthington Steel’s IT department is a key enabler in the Company’s business system and growth strategy. After completing the complex separation of systems and technologies as Worthington Steel spun off from the former Worthington Industries, the IT team remains instrumental in mergers and acquisitions, efficiently integrating new businesses. Beyond maintaining core systems for daily manufacturing and support, from ERP to the industrial internet of things, IT collaborates with analytics, business intelligence and transformation teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation. Together, they champion new technologies for office automation and shop floor optimization, advancing the Company’s operational excellence.

“This year’s focus on AI has created demand for new skills in AI, data analytics and cloud. The good news: Leading companies recognize that these opportunities for business innovation also create new opportunities for internal IT talent,” said Barbara Call, global director of content strategy at Foundry. “Our winning companies are committed to keeping their tech workforce happy and engaged – which means going beyond raises, perks and promotions to offer opportunities for upskilling and training on cutting-edge and emerging technologies.”

Worthington Steel ranked No. 18 in the midsize organization category and is among 112 total organizations that will be included on Computerworld.com along with results from the 2025 Best Places to Work in IT survey. This marks Worthington Steel’s seventh time to achieve this award and its first since becoming a standalone public company in December 2023.
