The ruling Law and Justice's (PiS) relatively rocky first year in office has not been disruptive enough to lead to a sustained decline in support, but the second year is likely to be a lot more difficult due to growing challenges on the fiscal, reform and political fronts that could start pressuring its support heading toward the first electoral tests in 2018. In the 2015 elections, PiS won control of parliament and the presidency, allowing it to do pretty much whatever it wants in the first twelve months since PM Beata Szydlo won a confidence vote.
