Martin Aircraft Company (MJP) has developed the first practical commercial jetpack, designed to be used as a manned and unmanned vehicle. Uses include search and rescue, military, recreational and commercial. The jetpack flies for up to 30 minutes at altitudes of up to 1,000 metres, at speeds of up to 74km/h carrying payloads of 120kgs. It can land and take off vertically, which allows it to operate in confined spaces. The company expects the first commercial product, a first responder jetpack, to support rescue and emergency services, to be available in H216.Martin Aircraft is engaged in the development and commercialization of the Martin Jetpack products in New Zealand.
