- Company reacts to the effects of coronavirus, which is having a strong effect on the economic situation
- Current demand and order situation varies widely across individual companies and countries
- Decision is a reaction to the slowdown caused by disrupted construction operations, also faced by machine customers

Schrobenhausen - Due to the effects of a deterioration in the economic situation as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic, the BAUER Group has applied for short-time work for a number of companies in Germany from April 1, 2020. This primarily applies to the Schrobenhausen machine production location, but also many areas of construction operations and administration functions. Implementation within the individual companies and locations is regulated by works agreements concluded between the BAUER AG Management Board or the respective management with their works councils.

The current order and workload situation within the BAUER Group is extremely varied. In the Construction segment, there is a high order backlog, and in most countries this can continue to be worked on. In some countries, however, the applicable exit restrictions mean that construction must be suspended. Appropriate decisions are being made on location.

In the Equipment segment, the main production location in Schrobenhausen is experiencing a slowdown while at the same time, for example, business in China is noticeably picking up again as the country tries to return to normal life. Here too the arrangements must be individually adjusted to suit every location and company.

"Overall, the effects of coronavirus and the economic situation can vary greatly and are difficult to accurately predict, even for us" says Michael Stomberg, Chairman of the Management Board of BAUER AG. "But we do need to react, as the situation has disrupted construction operations in many countries and will also affect our machine customers. For us, job security is our top priority."
