DATAGROUP Strengthens Capacities in the Financial Sector
Since March 1, 2020, Dr. Jan Saat joins the top management of the German IT service as divisional board member for banking and insurance and as managing director of the two subsidiaries Portavis and DATAGROUP Financial IT Services (FIS), which specialize in the financial services sector. After a degree in business administration, Dr. Saat earned his Ph.D. in business information management at the University of St. Gallen. This was followed by several years in strategy and management consulting for the European financial services industry. Before joining DATAGROUP, he worked at Bankhaus Lampe KG as CIO. For DATAGROUP, the financial sector is an important growth area, as banks need to push digitization, especially in the current low-interest environment and due to the increased competition from digital-native providers. This also increases the demand for experienced IT service providers such as DATAGROUP, which, with its specialized subsidiaries, has the necessary expertise in IT as well as sector-specific requirements and regulations. In 2017 DATAGROUP acquired DATAGROUP Financial IT Services and has since been able to win major clients in the financial services sector, including the largest single order in the history of the company with the next generation outsourcing contract with NRW.Bank. With these competence centers and the new divisional board member, the IT service provider is ideally equipped to take advantage of the growth potential of the sector.
