Enapter AG publishes half-year report 2022

Berlin, 31 August 2022. In line with its internationalisation strategy, Enapter AG (ISIN: DE000A255G02) achieved further successes in the first half of the 2022 financial year and set the strategic course for its long-term growth.

Between January and June, Enapter succeeded in winning and implementing a large number of projects with both existing and new customers. Among others, Enapter's AEM electrolysers are used by the Wilo Group, a premium supplier of pumps and pump systems. With Johnson Matthey, a global leader in specialty chemicals and environmental technologies, Enapter has agreed on a long-term strategic cooperation in the field of catalysts and membrane development in May 2022, in which Johnson Matthey has also invested 20 million euros in Enapter. Enapter and Johnson Matthey will work together on research and development for materials and components for the AEM electrolysers, further enhancing the performance of the electrolysers and accelerating the scaling of production capacity.

Enapter is making good progress on schedule with the construction of the Enapter Campus in Saerbeck, North Rhine-Westphalia. Electrolysers are to be produced there from 2023. A major contribution from series to mass production is Enapter's new EL 4.0 AEM electrolyser, which is scheduled to start production in September 2022. With the new generation of the electrolyser, Enapter can significantly ramp up production.

In the first half of 2022, Enapter achieved sales of around 3.3 million euros compared to 2.0 million euros in the same period of the previous year. EBITDA was -7 million euros (previous year period -3.6 million euros) and the consolidated result was -7.7 million euros (previous year period -4.0 million euros). For the full year 2022, Enapter expects revenues to roughly double to around 15.6 million euros (previous year period 8.4 million euros). EBITDA is expected at -10.5 million euros and EBIT at -12.5 million euros. The target figures already take into account the delayed start of production of the new AEM electrolyser 4.0 due to quality problems with supplier parts of individual components. Production is expected to start in September 2022.
