Press Release MPC Capital realizes the sale of a portfolio of solar parks in Spain Hamburg, 27 July 2020 -- MPC Capital AG has signed the sale of a portfolio of ground-mounted solar parks in Spain to an institutional investor. The four solar parks that are located in Mallorca and Andalusia have a total peak capacity of 9.62 MWp and an average energy production of approximately 14,000 MWh per annum. All four plants with a total constructed area of more than 200,000 sqm have been operational since 2007/2008. Martin Vogt, Managing Director Renewable Energies of MPC Capital AG: "We are very pleased with the results of the sale of this portfolio of operational solar parks in Spain. The investors in the MPC managed fund will benefit from this attractive exit, especially given the historic context of regulatory changes in Spain. The team managed this transaction very successfully in a challenging environment of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in Spain and Germany. The appetite from institutional investors for renewable energy infrastructure remains strong. The transaction clearly documents the execution capabilities of MPC Capital in the renewables spaces." The owner of the solar parks is a solar fund, which was launched by MPC Capital in 2008. The total return including historic distributions for the investors is approximately 190 percent with an equity IRR of 7% per annum. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.
