As a result, traditional and large categories such as dried pasta and rice struggled to sustain their growth rates. Value sales of rice declined by 1% in 2016 and are expected to continue a relatively flat decline through 2017. Meanwhile, dried pasta saw relatively minimal value growth of 1% in 2016 and 2% in 2017.
